Welcome Aboard!
  Mrs. Belinda Duett's Classes

"We'll weather the storms together!"
Welcome aboard the U.S.S. Bronco. Mrs. Grider and I are the captains of the ship, while the students are the sailors. We are sailing across the seas to distant shores. In April, we
will meet our fiercest pirate, the TAKS test. We will not fight him physically, but we will fight him mentally. If we are not mentally prepared, we will lose the fight. If we fight through the wind and waves, we will reach the distant shores safely. It will take all of us working as a crew to make this ship sail.

My 7th grade 4th/5th period classes will be in either Mr. Burchett's classroom or Ms. Yeager's classroom (see your child's schedule). I will still be serving them as the Special Ed. teacher, but this year, I will be going into the regular classroom with your child as an "inclusion" teacher. I will be there to help teach, monitor, and offer help to the student in any way necessary to help him/her be successful with the regular 7th grade curriculum. If you have concerns about this, please call me at 559-6581.

For my 2nd and 8th period 8th grade students, we will be going into Mrs. Burchett's room second period for instruction and then will return 8th period in my room for homework help and reinforcement on the day's lesson.
"We'll do what it takes to stay afloat!"
This six weeks in Math, we will be focusing on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals and fractions. With the new legislation, all students will be required to take grade level testing despite their functional levels. We will be working hard this year to get them to the point where they can be successful on the 7th/8th grade curriculum. It will take work and dedication on everybody's part, but together, we can do it.
"We'll always stay anchored!"
Reading this year consists of a second year dyslexia class. The students will have a very small amount of homework each night, except for Fridays, in which only makeup work is given. They will need to read words or phrases to you and get you to sign off on the list in order to receive credit.
