Welcome to my classroom website! It is the last six weeks of school and the time has flown by. My students have learned many new things and they are really excited about summer. I hope that they have all had a great second grade experience. There are many things planned for the last six weeks and the students will be working harder than ever to prepare for third grade. Hats off to my students for their hard work!

Reading this six weeks will be a review of all the skills that have been taught in second grade and the students will begin working on TAKS strategies that they will take to third grade. These students are excited about reading and enjoy taking AR tests. We will be reading the novel "Black Beauty" the last two weeks of school.

This six weeks we will be reviewing all skills and learn how to multiply. This summer it would be a good idea to practice multiplication using flash cards. Please continue to allow your children to count money!

This six weeks we will be learning about weather. I think the students in my class are very interested in learning about weather since we witnessed first hand the strength of a tornado. We will also be learning about space.

In social studies this six weeks we will be learning about important goods and services, Earth Day, and practicing map skills. Please encourage your child to read maps.
