Resource Math 9-12
  Ms. Cheryl Glover

Daily Classroom Objective
I teach a Resource Math class which serves 25-35 students. These students learn basic math skills and Algebra I that pertain to each student's Goals and Objectives on their Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.). The students (9th-12th grades) work at their own pace to achieve the math skills they need to be successful. I teach math skills that are relevant for the students to use in 'every day' situations, including the TEKS objectives. I also teach study skills which are beneficial for all of their academic classes. I also encourage the students to bring other academic work with them to my class to help assist them with their work. In other schools, this type of assistance or program is called 'Content Mastery'.

About Ms. Glover

My teaching experience has been at the Elementary, Jr. High and High School levels. I have taught curriculum in the Special Education areas of Math and English Resource, Reading, Co-Teaching in the regular education classroom, Content Mastery, E.D. Unit and Self Contained classes. I have attended numerous workshops, seminars and law conferences to further my education in these areas during the past thirteen years.

I received a Master's of Education degree from Tarleton State University in May 2006. My Master's degree is in Education - Curriculum and Instruction with a Diagnostician Certification. Educational Diagnosticians administer achievement and cognitive tests for students who have been referred to Special Education by a teacher, parent or administrator. Diagnosticians also interpret the assessment and report the evaluation to the A.R.D. committee. The A.R.D. committee consists of the administrator, parent, diagnostician, regular education teacher, special education teacher, counselor and student.
