field investigations
  Mrs. Cory Boles

Science is so much fun!
We are working on field investigations this week. We have observed and collected all types of rocks on our walks.
We used our magnifying glasses to observe and discuss the different shapes, sizes, and textures of the rocks.
We've learned about erosion and how many things can cause rock to erode. We've learned that erosion takes place slowly over time, but to get a "hand's on" version of erosion--we rubbed our rocks together to see if we could make sand!
It worked!! We found out that some rocks are easier to erode than others.
We know that lots of things can make rocks erode like wind, water, and pressure. But we like our version of erosion the best!!
