Third Grade Discipline Plan
For minor infractions such as talking in class, drawing in class, running in the hall, unnecessary talking in the hall, playing in the restroom, etc.:
First Infraction – Student will receive a verbal warning and a check will be placed by his/her name.
Second Infraction – The student will receive another check by his/her name.
Third Infraction – Another check is placed by his/her name. The student will receive a detention slip, which is to be signed by a parent and returned to school the next day. Failure to return the slip will result in another day of detention. Detention will be served during the next recess following the third infraction.
• A student will automatically be assigned a detention for:
1. Failure to bring back the signed slip from a previous day’s detention.
2. Being rude or disrespectful.
3. Using bad language.
4. Being hurtful to another student.
Detentions will lower a child’s report card conduct grade.
• A student will automatically be assigned a recess time-out for:
1. Failure to complete homework and bring it to school the next day.
2. Failure to bring back the Tuesday folder signed by parent or guardian.
3. Failure to complete classwork in a timely manner.
Recess time-out will not lower a child’s report card conduct grade.
• Parents will be required to conference with the teacher when a student receives two detention slips.
• Students who receive three detention notices within a three week period will be sent to the principal’s office.
• Students will be immediately sent to Mrs. Wallis’ office if the following occur: fighting, destruction of classroom or school property, carrying weapons, etc.
