My name is Cheryl Logan. I want to tell you a little about myself. I love children. I enjoy all the teachers that I work with, and all the students that I have been lucky to teach.

We have started off to a great year. They have to get ready to take their TAKS test in third grade and we as teachers have to make sure that we do our part in getting them there.

We do a lot of reading. It is very important that you help your child by reading beside them. Ask questions that are about the story and have them find the answers in the story. They will also have a lot of opportunity to read library books as well as other material. We have an internet program where the students read a story and take a test (called AR Test) on the computer.

Responsiblility is very important in second grade. We expect the student to start taking responsibility for many things. One of the new responsibility is that they write their homework assignment on their homework assignment sheet. They also have the responsibility of making sure that you have signed their homework assignment sheet.

Homework is very important. Students do not learn just at school. Homework is work that helps continue learning from other people. It give the students more practice. Everyone need practice, practice, practice to get better at anything.

I am so excited about this year. I BELEIVE that your child will be successful. I BELEIVE that we will have a wonderful year. I BELEIVE that our children are our future.
