We try to make each year better than the last. It is very crucial that we work together in order to create an attitude that promotes success! As always, one of the things I would like from you, as a parent, is more involvement with not only your child but the school district. I welcome you to come by and visit at any time. If you would like to help with classroom work/projects, don't hesitate to email me at
ccooper@breck.esc14.net or call the school at 254-559-2231.
As a state, we are moving towards doing away with Resource class rooms. With this in mind, I am going to be using the 9th grade curriculum as a “base” for what is to be taught. I will make many adjustments with this curriculum; however, I want to create a higher level thinking. My basic format will still remain the same. We have daily work that we test over on every Friday. Daily work counts as 25%, and weekly test grades count as 25%. Students must recite memory work that will count as a test grade. Students must read a library book every Six weeks; this counts as part of their Six weeks test grade.(total 25%) The other 25% comes from their notebook. Please make sure your child is keeping a notebook. It contains all of their daily work, weekly tests, and some of the essays that we will write.
