Currently, we have been working on geometry concepts. Particularily, we have studied shapes, lines, 3-dimensional figures, and various concepts that we can apply. For example: compare a square to a rhombus and tell its unique attributes. A square has 4 sides, 4 vertices, and 4 angles; however, so does a rhombus. Also, a square has all sides congruent, but so does a rhombus. So, the attribute that makes them different is a square has all right angles, and a rhombus does not need to have all right angles. Also, we have learned about perimeter, area, and volume. We are really working on reviewing for the TAKS Test which happens on Tuesday, April 8th for 5th grade math students.
