Art Course Purpose and Content |
An education in art helps develop problem-solving skills. It teaches a new way to look at things and put things together. These skills are beneficial not only in art, but also in all areas of life. It develops minds, contributes to culture, heightens social awareness, teaches appreciation, and makes powerful observers.
This class will provide hands on learning experiences in which the students will gain knowledge in four major areas:
~Visual perception - really seeing and understanding the world about you.
~Creative expression - interpreting emotions, feelings, and insights through a variety of art materials.
~Cultural heritage - by studying works of art from many different cultures.
~Judgment - by evaluating their own artwork and the works of other artists. | | |
