We are looking forward to an exciting year in Talented and Gifted! We have many neat new things to add to last year's list of activities. I would like to say," 'TAG' You're It!"

* November: Novel In a Month Contest
November 14 is the Texas Tech Science, Math and Engineering Competition. We will leave on Friday, November 13. We will get back late on the 14. They have been practicing for this test. I am planning on keeping them after school with a Math teacher and Science teacher to fine tune what they do not know. I will let your child know when.
January: We are creating a Virtual Field Trip to perform in the Distance Learning Lab. The students will be doing a lesson about "HORSES". The Virtual Field Trip is entered in a Tandberg Technology Contest. We hope to create a new field trip each year. This is a very in depth process, so we will be spending every minute on it for the next 2 months.
January: Dry run through with another school.
* February 4- 14: Virtual Field Trip Judging
Individual Projects: The students are also working on individual projects due at the end of the year for a rating. They need to do some of the research at home. Their final product is up to them, but they need to stay on top of this project.This will be rated by qualified raters and turned into the region.
We have added an INFOMERCIAL project. It is due finished by October 29, so this is our first deadline. It is about "The Mural Capital of Texas: Breckenridge." We are excited about this new project.
I will keep you posted on what gets added as the year progresses.

This year's virtual field trip is "HORSES." We received 1st Place last year. We donated money to St. Jude's, earned free virtual field trips, received an awesome trophy and certificates, and will get to perform "Ranch and Rodeo" this year for a fee of $50, which will go to fund next year's trips. We are looking forward to putting on a good lesson about horses. If you have any ideas, let us know. Giddy-up!!!
