Did you know that the reason for the seasons is because of the tilt of the earth? When the north pole is tilted toward the sun, we are having summer. When the south pole is pointing to the sun, we are having winter.

Why do we have day and night? It is because of the earth's rotation on its axis.
We are having day if the side of the earth that we are on is facing the sun. If the part of the earth that we are on is facing away from the sun, we are having night.

We will be working with measurement this six weeks as well. Be prepared to look for metric measurements around your house.
