Hello, this is Karen Jimenez, eighth grade science teacher. I have taught school at Breckenridge Junior High School for 25 years, 24 of those years as the earth science teacher. In earth science we study different aspects of the earth and nature. During the year we will study astronomy, chemistry, weathering and erosion, volcanoes, earthquakes, oceanography, rocks and minerals, meteorology, and systems of the human body.
We will be working in class to meet the TEKS objectives and to prepare for the 8th grade science TAKS test.
Each student's grade for the six weeks will be averaged from the daily work (33%), tests (34%), and projects (33%)he/she will work on during the six weeks.
My planning period is 10:00 - 10:45 each day. If you have any questions about your student or the course please call the Junior High office at 559-6581 and make an appointment to come to the school or leave a phone number so that I may return your call.
