About This Class
Students have been learning to "touchkey", which means they must key without looking at their hands or keyboard. Good posture is, and will always be, important. For most students, developing and instilling excellent keyboarding skills means they will have to practice a lot. Their new skills will be monitored whenever they use computers in classrooms or labs. Please encourage your child to practice throughout the year.

When students miss school, they need to come by before or after school to make up missed work. They have one day per absence to make up work and after that time, they will be assigned lunch homework d-hall and that grade will be a maximum of 70. Please encourage them to keep caught up with their work in this, as well as all other classes.

As you know by now, there is very little homework in computer tech. They are given notes and handouts to study for quizes. They will be required to keep all papers in a notebook, which will be turned in at the end of each six weeks period. Not only does their notebook count as 20% of their grade, but it also serves as a good source for study information.

Citizenship grades are determined by your child's behavior. Talking without permission is perhaps our main problem in class. Conduct is fully documented and kept up to date so that you and your child can know his/her grade at any time. I know it is your desire that your student helps to create an atmosphere that accommodates learning not only for his or herself, but also for others.

Classroom rules are as follows:
1. Bring their notebook every day
2. Show respect for this place and be nice to others
3. Stay on task

Weight of grades is as follows:
In-class work 30%
Tests 25%
Projects 25%
Notebook 20%

Supplies needed:
School notebook
Pen or pencil
Notebook paper

Let's all make this 2008-2009 count toward a great future!!
