  Mrs. Leslie Blackerby

The cost of innumeracy is incalculable.
Thanks for stopping into my website. My name is Leslie Blackerby and I teach Mathematics at Breckenridge High School. I grew up in Fort Worth Texas and graduated with a BS in Mathematics at Tarleton State University in 1992. I am in my 16th year of teaching. I teach Mathematical Models, Honors Algebra II, PreCalculus, and Calculus. I have lived in Breckenridge for 29 years. I have five children, three that were born to me and two that I have been blessed with recently. My oldest son, Jason works as an account representative at a Chemical Company in Dallas. He married a wonderful young woman, Melinda, from Jacksboro, Texas in July of 2006. Melinda is a first grade teacher in Crowley ISD. She is such a blessing to our family. My middle son, Benjamin is an Engineer with an environmental firm in Fort Worth, Texas. He is busy traveling throughout the United States so we don't get to see him as much as we would like to. Our youngest, Camille, recently graduated from TCU in Fort Worth with her mechanical engineering degree. She works for a mechanical engineering firm in Dallas. Camille recently married a terrific guy from Baird Texas. Tye is a Senior Vice President of Plains Capital Bank in Dallas. I am very proud of all my "kids" and feel very blessed to be their mom. I have six cats and two dogs plus one husband. My family plays golf for a hobby, but they leave me at home. I like to work with Stained Glass, make wonderful Quilts and read great books. I am currently working towards my Masters of Science in Mathematics from Texas A&M University. So mostly, I just like mathematics. I hope when this year is over, we have that in common.
