Field Trip to the Fire Department |

Firemen are our friends!! |
Firemen, David Easley, Paul Dionne, and Brent Holley, showed us all around the fire station. They showed us where they sleep and where they keep the fire trucks.
They talked to us about fire safety and showed us their equipment. They let us hear the fire alarm in the firehouse and also let us hear the sirens and horns on the fire truck.
They showed us the ladder truck and the pole in the firehouse, but they wouldn't let us climb the ladder or slide down the pole. Mrs. Bufkin was glad about that! They did let us spray the fire hose, and we liked doing that!!
The most important thing they showed us is that firefighters are our friends and they are there to help us.
We had a great time on our field trip to the fire station and we want to say thank you to Firemen Easley, Dionne and Holley! You are the best!!

Thank you again to the Breckenridge Fire Department for making our study of fire prevention meaningful to us. I would like to say a special thank you to Mrs.Teresa Morris for accompanying us on the field trip!!

During our study of fire prevention we learned many things.
*Never play with matches or lighters.
*If your house is on fire...GET OUT and DON'T go back in the house for anything.
*If you are on fire, STOP DROP & ROLL.
We practiced fire drills, and we also practiced how to crawl low on the ground to escape smoke.
