I am so excited to be the librarian at South Elementary this year. This is my first year as a librarian. I have taught 4th and 5th grades for 13 years. Reading is my specialization so I decided last year that I would like to make the move from the classroom to the library. I am currently working on my Master's in Library Science at the University of North Texas. Our family just moved to Breckenridge this summer. My husband is the assistant principal at South and the Junior High. We have five children: Zack is in 8th grade, Hannah is in 6th grade, Luke is in 4th grade, Sarah is in 2nd grade, and Rachel is in Kindergarten. We are very excited to be here in Breckenridge and look forward to a long stay.

We have had a slow start in the library this year. Due to some technical difficulties, the students weren't able to check out books until the second week of school. All students should have a library book by now. If your child does not have a book please contact me so I can help them find one. The end of the six weeks is quickly approaching. Please check with your child to make sure they are working towards meeting their AR goal in their reading class. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance in helping your child become a "Radical Reader!"
