Welcome to Mrs. Rodriguez's Second grade class!
We are bananas over learning this year!
I have so much planned for the year and looking forward to seeing each child in my class soar to the top of the "rainforest"!
Here are a few things we are doing this six weeks:
In reading, right now we are talking about the main idea of a story, graphic sources, character and homophones and lastly, ABC order. Not to mention, all of the great vocabulary words we are working on.
In Language Arts, we are working on synonyms and antonyms. Also, we are working to become GREAT spellers!
In Math, we are continuing to learn to subtract two digit numbers and patterns and numbers to 1000. Be looking for homework sheets to review concepts already taught in class. This is BIG stuff! We are finishing up learning about measurement! Boy, we are sure working hard!! WOW!
In Science, we're just beginning our unit on Earth Science.
AND In Social Studies, we are beginning our chapter on Measuring Time and the Past. We will continue working on map skills and expanding our knowledge to knowing how to read a map grid.
