The novel for the 5th Six Weeks will be Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor |
 | |
We read this novel on CD and this usually helps the students to better understand. However, I am certainly not opposed to someone checking out a novel overnight. I am really excited about this book, and I think you're going to enjoy it a great deal!

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES |
 | |
PARENTS & Students-
We're off to a new semester, so let's make the most of it. Study your vocabulary or at least review it daily. Read your library book and test early so that you don't wait to the last minute. Not only make it to school, but pay attention to the readings so that you can participate in class discussions and understand comprehension questions. Let's have an awesome Six Weeks!

PARENTS-PLEASE NOTE! |
 | |
This six weeks we will be trying something new! We will be taking mini-benchmarks. Part of the challenge of the TAKS test is dealing with the anxiety that goes along with testing. Hopefully, we will be able to ease some of the discomforts your child may have by practicing weekly so that they are not overwhelmed the actual day of the test. These tests will also help me in determining what materials need to be covered before the day of the test.
Please check with your child to see their point goal for the six weeks. We have set our goals! The last day to take a test this six weeks will be March 11,2008.
GRADES-I encourage any failed paper to be corrected, signed, and brought back to me. I will let the kids know if the paper doesn't apply to that rule!
